In Sicily mulberries are called Gelsi. Mulberry trees were grown for silk worm production. They are vigorous trees with large leafs and in the summer they carry longish berries similar to rasperries or blackberries. Their flavor is very intense and remembers elderflower and wild berries. The berries are picked by hand.
